Double Diamonds Ski And Sports Club Winter Sports Program

Double Diamonds Ski and Sports Club Winter Sports Program

The Double Diamonds Ski and Sports Club (Hartford, CT) will be offering a Winter Sports Program at Ski Sundown for youth 8 – 19 – Skiing and Snowboarding

The Double Diamonds Ski and Sports Club (DDSSC) was founded in the late 1980’s by a group of African Americans who loved to ski. Within a couple of years, the Club joined the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS), the largest national ski club in North America. Like the NBS, the mission of the Double Diamonds is to encourage and support people of color participating in winter sports including alpine and cross-country skiing and snowboarding.

For the past 7 seasons, the Double Diamonds has supported youth ages 8-19 in a 6-week Learn to Ski/Board Program at Ski Sundown (New Hartford, CT). This season the program will continue Friday evenings beginning January 9, 2026 to February 13, 2026. Ski Sundown will provide equipment for participants at no cost. The deadline for signing up for the Youth Program is November 10th.

The Double Diamonds is joined by the following area partners – Bloomfield Leisure Services, the Legacy Foundation of Hartford, Inc. and Ski Sundown.
