Out Film CT Presents the 37th Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival, June 14-22, 2024

Hundreds of Films Highlighting LGBTQ Stories Submitted From Across the Globe

Out Film CT, organizer of the Nutmeg State’s longest-running and most diverse film festival, announced today the dates for the 37th Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival. After moving to the fall in 2023, the festival returns to its traditional Pride Month berth, June 14-22, 2024.

As in previous years, the Out Film CT selection committee has received hundreds of submissions from almost every corner of the globe and is currently reviewing the films and finalizing its lineup. The majority of the festival will be screened at the festival’s longtime home, the historic and elegant Cinestudio on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford. The closing night film will be held at the Connecticut Science Center in downtown Hartford. In addition, there will be some virtual-only exclusives for film fans to enjoy at home.

Attendees can enjoy social events like the Opening Night after-party, the Centerpiece film pre-reception, and the Closing Night celebration, events where film fans and filmmakers can mix and mingle over cocktails and nibbles.

Festival Director Shane Engstrom states, “The pandemic and its aftermath has given the festival committee a chance to throw everything up in the air and test new things. Our audience has made it clear that the Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival is a highlight of their Pride Month celebrations. We listened to the community and are happy to be back in the month of June! Last year, a third of our attendees participated virtually, so we’re bringing home-viewing exclusives. We’re also tightening up the in-person schedule so that people who want to attend screenings and events can attend easily.”

As Out Film CT finalizes the schedule and the lineup, information on feature films, shorts programs, schedule, FestiPasses, tickets, and more will be announced. Visit OutFilmCT.org for the latest updates and follow @outfilmct on Facebook and Instagram.
