HARTFORD ANNOUNCES UPGRADES TO HARTFORD 311 SYSTEM

The City of Hartford announced that Hartford 311, its constituent services and non-emergency call center, will undergo significant upgrades.  The 311 service, designed to connect Hartford residents, businesses, and visitors to City services, will now align with Accela, the platform used by City departments, in order to allow for better data sharing and more timely updates between departments, City staff, and residents.  As part of these changes, the City is transitioning away from the Hartford 311 app, which had low usage, and towards the more mobile-friendly webpage.  All residents should submit requests for service through the 311 call center at 860-757-9311 or the website at www.hartfordct.gov/hartford311.

“Hartford 311 has helped thousands of residents get connected to vital resources, like housing inspectors and tree removal, and provided an easy way for residents to report violations and quality of life concerns,” said Mayor Bronin.  “Hartford 311 helps our teams find and fix issues as quickly as we can, and we’re grateful to every resident that submits 311 requests when they see an issue in their neighborhood.  With the winter season coming, I also want to urge every single one of our residents that if you see a violation or an issue in this city, or if you lost your heat, hot water, or need help from our housing inspection team, our 311 team is ready to get you the help you need, either on the phone or at www.hartfordct.gov/hartford311.”

“When we get a request from our residents, there’s nothing more important than responding and addressing those concerns as quickly as we can,” said Janice Castle, Director of the Office of Community Engagement.  “By aligning the 311 system with the same system other departments use, we hope to increase response time and information share so we can continue to instill faith and trust in our 311 process.”

With these new upgrades, image thumbnails will make it clear and easy for residents to identify the type of request they wish to submit, from illegal dumping to potholes to permit applications.  Residents will also be able to more easily submit requests on the website and follow along with the progress of their service request.
